Group Instruction

Group instruction is offered through the City of San Mateo Park and Recreation Department. The series consists of 4 one-hour lessons. The lessons cover all phases of the game and are designed for either the complete beginner or the recreational player looking for a review of the basics. Short game principles, including chipping, pitching, sand play, and putting are covered. Golf etiquette and rules of the game, along with how to manage your game on the golf course are additional topics that are reviewed.

Golf clubs are provided and all those completing the series receive a certificate for one free round of golf at Poplar Creek. The lessons are given in the practice swing cages and short game practice areas. We do not go onto the golf course. The series of four classes costs $115 for City of San Mateo residents and $144 for all others. The classes begin in the Spring and continue through Fall. Private Group instruction is designed for a group of friends or colleagues who are interested in taking lessons together. Group lessons are for 1 hour.

Group Instruction Special
The special includes three clinics and a 9 hole playing lesson. Green fees and cart fees are included.

Intermediate Clinics

Intermediate clinics are designed for students looking to gain better performance on the course. Emphasis will be on taking what you have learned on the lesson tee onto the course. The first part of the lesson is a clinic followed by golf. Clinics are offered on various dates and times throughout the year. Please look on the home page for the current schedule.
$30 per person per clinic includes clinic and golf green fee.
